Marine Strategy, Part 1
The Marine Strategy for the Dutch Part of the North Sea consists of three parts and covers the period 2012 – 2020. Part 1 (MS1) comprises the initial assessment, the Good Environmental Status (GES) and the associated environmental targets and indicators ranked according to the 11 qualitative descriptors set out in Annex 1 of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD (Marine Strategy Framework Directive)).
This document also defines the policy objectives and priorities for the research programmes. The government approved this document and reported this to the European Commission on 15 October.
